More About This Recipe

  • A bit of frosting, a bit of crunchy cereal, and POP! You know those ideas that are so simple and brilliant, you see them on Pinterest and think, “Of course! Why didn’t I think of that?!” Well, this here recipe is one of those there ideas. It’s so quick and easy (and adorable!) you can make a whole batch in minutes because... they start with ready-made mini donuts and just get cuter from there! I started with some simple coconut crumb donuts, but a box of plain mini donuts works even better. Alternately, you can pick up a box of plain donut holes and simply frost the top half. There’s nothing but options here. Lots and lots of delicious donut options. Here’s how we matched our frosting/topping flavor combos: Chocolate frosting + Chocolate Lucky Charms™ cereal White frosting + Cinnamon Toast Crunch™ cereal Pink vanilla frosting + Fruity Cheerioes™ cereal The colors of the frosting and flavors of the cereals made a great match, but there are dozens of flavor combos. Serve the pops standing upright in jelly-bean filled pots for a color fest – or coffee-bean filled pots for a super cute breakfast or brunch presentation. Party ready! Or serve the them on a platter for parties, bake sales, brunches or midnight snacking. Then call in the crew. These donut pops are too cute to keep to yourself!
