Ingredients

  • 2 envelopes (or 1 tablespoon) unflavored gelatin
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 1 1/2 cups peppermint schnapps or candy cane vodka
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 mini candy canes, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon red and green nonpareil sprinkles
  • Betty Crocker™ Food Color Gel, red and green
  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: 12-cavity silicone egg mold, icing bag, large star tip

    Spray silicone mold with nonstick spray. Set aside.

    In a large bowl, whisk together gelatin and water until gelatin dissolves. Quickly whisk in peppermint schnapps. Pour half of mixture into a smaller bowl. Tint one bowl green and one bowl red with gel food coloring. Pour into prepared silicone sheet. Refrigerate until set. Remove and place on serving tray.

    In a stand mixer or large bowl, beat cream until light and fluffy. Add powdered sugar and beat just until incorporated. Transfer to icing bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe whipped cream on top of each egg. Sprinkle eggs with crushed candy canes and sprinkles. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.
